CanmetMINING's SIMPLER team along with partners from the Canada School of Public Services recently hosted a workshop with federal regulators responsible for the permitting of mining projects. The workshop was an important step towards CanmetMINING’s goal of simplifying the mine permitting process by applying the “Rules as Code” approach. An online tool designed by CanmetMINING to guide mine permitting was demonstrated at the workshop and next steps for validating and receiving feedback on the tool were established. The workshop was attended by representatives from Transport Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Fisheries and Oceans, and the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, among others.
